Right Brain vs Left Brain

The Right Brainer Thinker: Creative, Experiential, Intuitive, Non-Verbal Knowing, Dreamer, Spontaneous, Subjective, Love the Unknown, Stores Emotion, Remembers Faces. Metaphorically: A Kaleidoscope

The Left Brainer Thinker: Factual, Logical, Rational, Language Skills, Directed, Linear, Objective, Stores Practical Information, Remembers Names.
Metaphorically: A Computer

Do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti clockwise? If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain. A left brainer would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise.

If you are a right brainer you are not challenged to see her turning in the fluid manner. A right brainer is able to visualize her turn in either direction without any lines. Right brainers could watch this video over and over this results to wanting to catch something different they may of missed the first time. The music in the background while she is turning flows with her movement which would make a right brainer feel at ease.

A left brainer watching this video would become very stressed and overwhelmed. They may not even watch the whole video. The introduction is not clear enough for them to understand what the purpose is watching her turn around and around. There are no boundaries or rules to the madness. If the left brainer makes it to where the lines appear in the video they will feel more at ease and in control. The unknown is uncomfortable for them.

What does this mean? We all use one side of our brain more then the other. In our education system the right brain thinker is often left out in the cold. We don’t understand or learn as a left brainer does. We are artist and need visuals in order to understand information. We are not able to absorb too much information all at once as a result of becoming easily overwhelmed. Our school system is currently set up to learn more like a left brainer. Can you imagine if we adapted the visual way of learning into our education system? We would be graduating more inventors and entrepreneurs because there are no boundaries.
